St John Lateran

Our visit to the Lateran Basilica followed upon a failed attempt to visit Santa Croce in Gerusalemme owing to the lunchtime closure.

    Most moving church in Rome, in my opinion. A continuous history from ancient times until today is apparent in the place. Good time to be there, as the patronal feast of the Lateran is the Ascension of the Lord.
