To veil or not?

"And we,with our unveiled faces reflecting like mirrors the brightness of the Lord, all grow brighter and brighter as we are turned into the image we reflect..." (2Corinthians3.18)

  1. The more I read this passage, the more I like it.

  2. It's a really good question Patricius. I posted some pictures of churches in Cork (Ireland) that were veiling images last year both those using the EF and those that were not. Now I noticed the same in Dublin when I was up last a few days ago. Interesting, no?

  3. "Veilimg" has a lot of resonances at the moment and I wondered how my quotation would be understood! I will come clean.
Passiontide veiling: I am all for it and glad to see its return.
Veiling of women's faces in public places: I'm against it.
I love the passage from St Paul: Among other things it suggests that, as Christians, we should be "open", honest and "up front"!
