Hadn't seen this church before; it's a terrific overlap of Late Romanesque and Early Gothic.
ReplyDeleteIndeed. I found it a charming building if a little frayed around the edges. I think that we sometimes place too much emphasis upon style labels and that what we think of as Gothic stylistic features are to some degree practical solutions to problems arising in Romanesque architecture.
