O Quam Gloriosum est Regnum

O how glorious is the kingdom where all the saints rejoice with Christ! Clothed in white robes they follow the Lamb wherever He goes!

St Luke

From lofty heights...

I am saddened to read that Fr. Mildew appears to have been silenced by someone claiming to be a Monsignor who writes for The Catholic Times. Is this real? A Catholic priest threatening to sue another priest? Who would have thought it? And what does it mean?
I hope Fr Mildew is back soon and I shall pray that the Monsignor comes to his senses.

St David mosaic

On my recent trip to London I was able to see the new mosaic of St David in Westminster Cathedral which was blessed by Pope Benedict on 18th September. It is certainly very striking. The colours are attractive although I find the iconography somewhat puzzling. He doesn't appear to be wearing a recognizable habit or vestments but, with his raised tumbler, is clearly advertising the marvellous qualities of Welsh water! Cheers!

Upbeat? I thought it was kind of goofy...

Well... as one of the few bloggers (it seems) who hadn't posted this yet, I was determined not to be the last!

Praise to the holiest in the height

Praise to the Holiest in the height,
And in the depth be praise;
In all His words most wonderful,
Most sure in all His ways.

O loving wisdom of our God!
When all was sin and shame,
A second Adam to the fight
And to the rescue came.

O wisest love! that flesh and blood,
Which did in Adam fail,
Should strive afresh against the foe,
Should strive and should prevail.

And that a higher gift than grace
Should flesh and blood refine,
God’s Presence and His very Self,
And Essence all divine.

O generous love! that He, who smote,
In Man for man the foe,
The double agony in Man
For man should undergo.

And in the garden secretly,
And on the Cross on high,
Should teach His brethren, and inspire
To suffer and to die.

Praise to the Holiest in the height,
And in the depth be praise;
In all His words most wonderful,
Most sure in all His ways.
