My MP Laura Sandys wrote to me a letter which showed either her ignorance or her confusion. She spoke about respecting the views of those who opposed her, spoke of the fourfold protection for those opposed and then admitted that the fourfold lock would probably be overturned. In Other words - it a a bad bill with lots of confusion, and yet she would vote for it!
ReplyDeleteI think it can be fairly said of our MPs in general that logic isn't their strong point. Perhaps they have learned from Oscar Wilde that "to be intelligible is to be found out"! My MPs letter quoted some half-baked statement by the protestant "Archbishop" of Wales. I was naturally disappointed that some of our separated brethren were letting the side down but I was dismayed beyond words at those MPs who advertised themselves as "Catholic" in the debate but who backed the bill.
